HWA: The Predator

Life is a game, those who know how to play it gain power

Victory

A real sense of accomplishment

An emotion

An emotion Breeze once again felt

The same rush of blood, exhilarating

Breeze was sat on his balcony looking out. It was a dark night, the moon shone full in his face bathing him in her light. The soft whisper of the wind echoed through his ears. He was looking at the city of New York. The moon’s light covered the whole city. A whole side of the planet, he hoped one day his will would do the same in the HWA. But it would be a Sun and Moon, and cover all life within its boundaries. A God

Nothing less would be satisfactory. Nothing less was acceptable. Breeze thought of it as he gazed beyond the buildings just outside the mansion’s gardens

Dan Sawyer was good in the overall scheme of wrestling. Breeze defeated him quite easily. As if he were no more than a piece of paper and Breeze a burning match. One that would not go out, Breeze’s desire was like that flame. It was unbending, uneasy, unpredictable. A light in the darkness of failure

This week would see him take on another opponent, an opponent by the name of Johnny Scibelli. A man unknown to Breeze. He had never seen him or fought him in his career. He did not know what to expect, to expect the unexpected was expected of Breeze. Breeze laughed at his thought, Scibelli would have to be competent to join the HWA in the first place. He did not know how good the new guy was but he was almost certain that he wasn’t as good as himself.

The Hardcore Wrestling Alliance was full of competition, of prey for the ultimate predator to catch. The White Tiger was fast, cunning and above all else powerful. His prey had no chance; they could not outrun him. They could not hide from him as his sense of smell was extraordinary. They could not fight back. They could resist but it would be futile. All they could really do was wait. Wait for the inevitable.

A Predator was more than a killer, he was a sense of something more powerful. Of wonder and destruction. Breeze was a predator, Scibelli was his next meal. Breeze would pounce yet again

Breeze returned to sleep from the balcony only to wake up ten hours later. He would have slept longer but there had been a knock at the door

It persisted

Breeze arose and opened the door, it was his butler Albert

Breeze: Yes?

Albert: Sorry to wake you sir

Breeze grumbled: But?

Albert: You have an appointment at the HWA studios New York for an interview

Breeze slammed down his fist

Breeze: When?

Albert: At 5 O’Clock

Breeze: What time is it now?

Albert:  2 O’Clock

Breeze: Isn’t it a little early then?

Albert: Not really sir, I was instructed by Hayley to wake you up

Breeze grunted

The situation between himself and Hayley had gotten worse, as it usually did if Hayley was left to brood over things. It was all over his return to wrestling. She was not happy and Breeze feared the childish behaviour would escalate, today of all days. Breeze was fresh from a victory and ready to go to an interview. The situation would not be pleasant.

Breeze showered and dressed before walking down the marble staircase and into his huge dining room. Its crimson red walls lined with golden edged drapes. Crystal candle holders filled with high red candles sat around the huge room. The gigantic dark oak table stood in the middle of the room, able to seat 12. White silk cloth covered it, its golden lining looking all the brighter with the sun shining through the windows.

Hayley sat in lounge wear on one of the seats. Her stomach was huge, over 7 and a half months pregnant. In front of her were plates of cream filled pastries and jams. Water, Coffee and Orange amongst an assortment of soft drinks. Everything had been nibbled at. Every single item on the huge silver platter lying next to Hayley had been bitten.

Breeze walked over to the table and sat opposite his fiancé.

Her gaze cut through him as it usually did and he winced away. After an awkward silence Breeze tried to speak, although he knew it would be useless he would try anyway. He loved her after all.

Breeze: Planning anything today?

Hayley: You mean except carrying this thing you put into me?

Breeze: It takes two to tango

Hayley: Whatever

Breeze: So I take that as a no?

Hayley: Take it how you want to

Breeze: Will you continue to argue with me forever?

Hayley: Until you stop wrestling

Breeze: This is stupid!

Hayley: You are stupid

Breeze: Come on, seriously Hayley. I don’t want to fight any more

Hayley: Then why are you wrestling again?

Breeze: I mean with you

Hayley: I’m not fighting with you, I’m trying to ignore you

Breeze: And how long will you continue to do that for?

Hayley: I’ve already told you

Breeze slammed his fist on the table

Hayley: Violence is your nature

Breeze grit his teeth and walked out of the room

He avoided Hayley for the rest of his time in the mansion before leaving for the HWA interview room in HWA NY Arena

The arena was busy with people rushing around to stage the arena for the dark matches taking place later on that night. He passed through them all and entered the HWA interview room. It was empty, he waited for a few minutes and was about to leave when Kristin Thomas walked into the room.

Kristin Thomas: Sorry I’m late

Breeze’s face was a picture of anger

Kristin Thomas: I see you’re not happy I’m late

Breeze: I’m doing you a favour by being here, if you’re late again I’ll ask for another interviewer

Kristin Thomas: Lighten up James

Breeze grunted

Kristin Thomas turned to the door and signalled for her fat balding cameraman to come into the room

The cameraman set up the camera and soon the red light appeared signalling the start of the interview

Kristin Thomas: Your first match in the HWA since your return went well James Breeze

Breeze: Yes it did, the aftermath was disappointing but the result is all that matters, and in the end I got that

Kristin Thomas: Everyone knew that Dan Sawyer was the clear underdog, did you take the match seriously?

Breeze: To an extent, I wanted to make an impression. This match will be tougher but even this match is not a match I will display my full potential on. Against Dan Sawyer I warmed up back into the scene of wrestling. I did well and I was confident in myself during the whole match. I came out victorious and for that I am pleased

Kristin Thomas: Some say that the HWA has been in crisis’ over the years, its recovered from the last fall and now it is back to its normal strength, do you agree?

Breeze: I can’t disagree with facts. Since the return of Neil to the forefront of HWA management the ratings and money flow sure has been increased. There are a lot more wrestlers trying to get into the organization and the titles have much more credibility. The HWA is definitely going strong

Kristin Thomas: This could be a disadvantage as the World Title, which you have said outright is your main priority will be at least five times harder to retrieve than it was a few months ago

Breeze: I know, with new blood like Kamikaze and Griffin both with much potential as well as others it will be hard. Draven Masters is surely a force to be reckoned with as is the champion Syren. It won’t be easy taking the title off of her.

Kristin Thomas: I suppose the fact Fudge is out of action makes it a lot easier for you to win the title

Breeze looked confused

Breeze: Why is that?

Kristin Thomas: Because you cannot beat him

Breeze: I can

Kristin Thomas: You’ve tried and failed James Breeze

Breeze: The answer to your question then is it doesn’t matter to me if Fudge is injured or not, if Tristan Wolfe is injured or not or whoever else is on that short list. I’ll win this title with the very best of HWA active

Kristin Thomas: If there is anything you would like to say to Johnny Scibelli you should say it now

Breeze: Only a few things. Scibelli I hope you are not expecting a win, cause you shall receive only a loss. I am my own. My will is unchanging and undeniable. You will be the next in a long line of defeated opponents, do not take it personally. As is often said. Don’t hate the playa, love the game. Life is a game Scibelli and to have power you must play it. It’s a shame for you that I have this turn and I roll double sixes

The red light stopped flashing on the camera signalling the end of the recording

Breeze said his goodbye to Kristin quickly, neither were in the mood for the other. Breeze was pissed at Kristin for being late and for taunting him over his defeat to Fudge. And Kristin was just as pissed at Breeze for the way he spoke to her when she was late. Plus, his continuing arrogance bothered her as she was just the same in the field of journalism. Her continuous advances over the past few years had all been turned down by Breeze and this only wound her up more. This was not a healthy relationship, recently his relationships with women hadn’t been going too well.

Breeze entered his Ferrari 360 Modena and drove through the streets of New York at an average speed. Unlike his usual speed which was fast. This time he did not want to get home quite so quick because of the situation between himself and Hayley. The inevitable happened and he reached the huge mansion. He walked back into the mansion and threw himself onto the long sofa in one of the living rooms. He was about to relax when he heard laughter. He walked downstairs to the indoor swimming pool. It was obviously quite warm water. In the middle of the pool there were about 6 women, including Hayley.

Hayley turned towards James and again looked right through him

She deliberately turned away

Hayley: No, we’re not having any intimate relations at the moment but Im not missing much, about four minutes of action

Breeze almost choked

Everyone burst out in laughter

Breeze almost exploded with fury but walked away before he did something he would regret

That night Breeze lay awake in bed, it was empty next to him. Hayley still insisted on having her own room until he stopped wrestling. He sighed.

His winning streak would start this week against Johnny Scibelli. It would be a valiant effort from Scibelli, he was sure but it would not be enough. People rarely came close to defeating Breeze never mind actually doing it. Scibelli was unknown to Breeze and on the contrary of the popular opinion Breeze did not fear the unknown. He was curious at what new challenge would come before him. Life was indeed a game as he had earlier stated, he knew how to play the game and to retrieve every ounce of power from it and the weaker links within it. If Scibelli was not exceptional he would be another victim. Breeze was at his prime, his peak. It was time to take control and control is what he would take…
